The First Friday Devotions are a set of Catholic devotions to especially recognize the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and through it offer reparations for sins. Please join us on the First Friday of every month immediately after the 11:30 am Mass in the Lamb of God Chapel to pray the rosary and to pray a prayer of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In many Catholic communities the practice of the Holy Hour of meditation during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the First Fridays is encouraged. If the need arises in order to receive Communion in a state of grace, a person should also make use of the Sacrament of Penance before attending Mass. On these days, a person is to attend Holy Mass and receive Communion. Margaret Mary, there are several promises to those that practice the First Friday Devotions: "In the excess of the mercy of my Heart, I promise you that my all powerful love will grant to all those who will receive Communion on the First Fridays, for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in my displeasure, nor without receiving the sacraments and my Heart will be their secure refuge in that last hour." The devotion consists of several practices that are performed on the first Fridays of nine consecutive months. The box automatically displays Mass days and times, with Masses in languages other than English noted. The pin will darken when you select it, as well as when you click its corresponding parish from the list.Ī small box will appear with all of the information you need to visit this parish, including the address and phone number. You may either click on a parish name from the list or on a pin. Click “Find Closest Parish” to return to your original search results by location. To find the next available Mass, click on “Find Next Mass” above the list of parishes. Otherwise, simply type the city name in the search box and hit enter.Ī list of parishes in and closest to your location will appear below the search box, on the left side of your screen, and pins with crosses marking the location of each parish will populate the map. If you click “allow” in this window, Parish Finder will use your current location. You may encounter a pop-up window when you first access the Parish Finder page. The Diocese of Austin website features a Parish Finder, which allows you to find Mass times for parishes near you, as well as opportunities for adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and confession.
